A child of two Hispanic parents, born in the city that never sleeps, owner of a wiener dog, and currently a college student, yup that’s me! Hello everyone, my name is Jiordalys (pronounced G-OR-DAH-LEASE) Figueroa, I am from New York, and currently a freshman at Penn State University. Many who know me describe me as a friendly, caring, outgoing, social butterfly (two hours after waking up). I am the kind of person who encourages others to speak up for themselves, and if they can’t, will do so for them. There’s nothing that gets me more upset then seeing someone being bullied!
Some of the things I enjoy doing are, playing volleyball (although I am not very good), spending time with friends and family, and dancing. Although I’ve been dancing all my life, over the summer I gained an obsession with salsa dancing and have not stopped since! Here, in Penn State, I joined every dance club that has salsa included as well as other Hispanic dances- I know, my obsession is serious! But is just so much fun!! However, I also joined a lot of other clubs to keep me not only active but also in shape because ”freshman 15” is no joke! Like many people in this world, I love to eat, however I am a picky eater. I get very upset when my sandwiches or anything has yellow cheese in it, yuck! I also dislike ice tea, tomatoes, peanut butter, and spicy food! But anything else is great, especially sweets! In my world, you can never go wrong with pastries. 
I loved your reference to the freshman 15! Haha. Suprisingly, I took a salsa class a few years back. It's a solid workout, I will give you that!
